Welcome to Alder Bay, B.C. Canada.
Alder Bay is easy to reach in many different ways, by land, sea or air.
Highway 19 connects Port McNeill to Victoria and Nanaimo. It is a paved double-lane highway that stretches the entire length of Vancouver Island. Around major centres, the Highway has been expanded to four lanes.
The road is well maintained and motor-home friendly with breathtaking scenery the entire route.
Alder Bay Resort is a private camping facility near to Telegraph Cove and a 15 minute drive south from Port McNeill on Highway 19.
By car, drive from Port McNeill and drive 10 minutes south and turn left at the Beaver Cove/Highway 19 Junction.
Road signs lead to Beaver Cove, Alder Bay Resort and Telegraph Cove.
Drive 3-5 minutes and turn left at the sign indicating the Alder Bay Road and drive 1 km down into the campground.
If you do not turn off the Beaver Cove road at this point, you will arrive eventually at Telegraph Cove.
At Alder Bay, camping is available for tents and RV's and if not camping, there is a $5.00 day parking fee (plus gst) that is payable at the camp office.
